Goals

Targets

Key Improvement Strategies

Student Learning

·         To improve student learning in writing across the school particularly for girls.

·         To improve student learning in reading, especially from years 3 – 6.

·         To improve student learning in mathematics- working mathematically, particularly for girls.

·         VELS assessments – at least 90% of both boys and girls at or above the expected standard in English Reading and Writing in years 3 – 6 by 2012.

·         VELS assessments – at least 85% of both boys and girls at or above the expected standard in Mathematics years 3 – 6 by 2012.

·         Based on 2009 NAPLAN results in reading, writing and spelling, number 80 % for cohort levels at years 3 & 5.

·         Further embed high expectations for student learning based on agreed standards and common values across the school.

·         Strengthening parent and community partnerships

·         Strengthen personalised learning for students through the use of evidence-based feedback to inform teaching and learning.

·         Further develop and ICT rich collaborative learning environment with local, national and global connections.

Student Engagement and Wellbeing

·         To further develop students’ sense of belonging , resilience and motivation.

·         100% of students in years 3-6 will achieve the VELS Personal and Interpersonal learning appropriate to their year level.

·         Improve student relationships as measured on the student opinion survey (yrs 5 & 6).

·         Increase the scale scores for Classroom Misbehaviour from 2.8 to 3.2.

·         The Staff Opinion survey components :

Student Motivation and Student Misbehaviour will be at 80 on the 100 point scale by 2012 ( baseline 73 & 41 respectively).

·         The Parent Opinion Survey components : School Accountability score will increase from 5.10 to 5.8.

Student Safety mean score will increase from 3.5 to 4.2.

·         Further embed high expectations for student learning based on agreed standards and common values across the school.

·         Strengthening parent and community partnerships along with development & valuing  of “ personal best”.

·         Build student responsibility to self and the school community based on effective relationships. Development & valuing   concept of “personal best”.

 

 

Student Pathways and Transitions

To improve the ability of students to be confident and independent learners (VELS personal learning) including a seemless transition between learning levels (eg.year 2 into year 3).

·         90% of students attend the preschool/prep transition programs.

·         100% of students in years 3-6 will achieve the VELS standards for Personal learning at the appropriate level.

·         Increase the Staff Opinion Survey  component of Student Motivation to the state average by 2012.

·         Improve the parent perceptions of Transition from 5.4 to 5.8 as measured by the Parent Opinion Survey.

·         Strengthen the local learning community K-8

·         Implement enhanced student transition, transfer and orientation processes.
